The restoration and preservation of Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company Trolley
Car #23 to its original appearance is a wonderful project for fans of local history and trolley cars alike. The 1949 trolley car spent its entire operating life serving communities within Delaware County, was decommissioned, sold and relocated to another part of the state in 1982, and then in 2015 “came home” to a community where it not only served, but now sits only feet away from where one of its Car Stops was once located.
When completed, PST #23 will look as it did when ran down West Chester Pike. The inside will be restored after the outside is completed too – with a portion of the car dedicated as a small museum and display telling the story of the trolley in Newtown Square. Click one of the links below to read about various stages of the renewal of this trolley car.

There is still LOTS to do, but we have had wonderful help from local businesses and individual members of the community. Thank you for all the good people who have helped, and please consider assisting us however you can. We are a small non-profit museum entirely run by volunteers, and any donation of time or of a financial contribution will help.
